Istraživanje prirode i čovjeka – Exploring Nature and Society
At the 95th Art ćakula(Art Talk) the Austrian artist Stefan Lozar presented his artistic oeuvre and creative process, where both form and the very process of finding form are essential components. He discussed the ideas and inspirations behind his work. He introduced us to his work as a mentor for students in the Erasmus+ program and finally gave us a look into his studio where he lives and creates—the artistic community Hafen 42 in Hofstätten an der Raab.
Stefan Lozar is a versatile artist whose art practice explores the relationship between humans and nature, symbiosis, parasitism, as well as societal themes such as environmental destruction and political developments. Lozar work focuses on metal sculptures, installations, and interdisciplinary projects. Lozar favors an analog, static aesthetic that creates illusions and associations, engaging viewers’ subjective perceptions. His sculptures, often made from recycled metal, merge organic and industrial forms. In addition to sculpture, Lozar incorporates photography, painting, and other media into his installations to create multifaceted experiential spaces. Through his art, he seeks to provoke reflection and convey visions of equality, knowledge, and community—values that drive him both as an artist and as a person.
