Na XLVII. Art ćakuli Wenwen Liu nam je pričala o svom umjetničkom doktorskom projektu gde kombinuje lično osjećanje i ekološko iskustvo u pošumljavanju Kubuki pustinji.

XLVII.

Programiranjem algoritama i vizuelizacijom podataka ona podstiče diskusiju o svakodnevnim navikama i umetnošću podigne svest o ovoj aktuelnoj temi.

With the progress of social civilization, human activities continue to disturb and interfere with the natural environment, resulting in a series of impacts, such as the climate crisis.

Due to the interference of early human activities, the Kubuqi Desert has degenerated from grassland to the seventh-largest desert in China. After more than 30 years of efforts, local enterprises and residents have successfully afforested one-third of the Kubuqi Desert, forming a sustainable landscape of green and rich.

Combining art with science and psychology, Wenwen Liu’s digital artwork enhances the audience’s perception, and helps them interpret the phenomenon of climate change. By transforming abstract material into physical material, it promotes art as a creative tool to connect climate change with global thinking and help people question the past and current situation.

Based on Wenwen Liu’s research in the Kubuqi Desert, she combines personal feelings and ecological experience in the Kubuqi Desert to carry out art practice. Wenwen Liu uses data visualisation and algorithm coding  to build a discussion space related to daily life through art to attract people’s attention.

Wenwen Liu finished her bachelor’s degree at Huber University of Economics (2013-2017) in China and her master’s degree at Teesside University (2017-2018) in the UK. At present, she is doing her Ph.D. study at Teesside University. Her work involves data visualization, digital art, concept art, and game design.
